MESSAGE FROM ARABIC DEPARTMENT
.jpg)
ARABIC is foreign language that originates from the Arabian Peninsula. Today Arabic is the official language of 26 countries And Bukomansimbi S.S is the only school that teaches Arabic language in Bukomansimbi district and one of the few schools that have known the importance of the language within the region.
The school has managed to have good teachers from international universities like AzharUniversity. Last year we had 4 students who all passed with distinctions in the UNEB examinations.
Rationale
Arabic plays an important role in the Islamic faith because it’s the language of the holy Quran. Muslims hold the importance of the language in a very high esteem with most of their beliefs being inseparable from Arabic.
Arabic is becoming an important language when it comes to operating an international business that’s trying to break into foreign markets
Learning Arabic opens up many employment possibilities in a number of different industries like oil, energy, travel, finance, government etc.
Arabic enables learners to communicate with those in neighboring countries and around the world. Proficiency in other languages is important to help the nation extend its participation in the global economy.
With this high level of demand of the language and translators, Bukomansimbi secondary school decided to include it on the subjects taught at school and this has yielded a lot of benefits to both learners and the community at large.
Teaching and Learning Arabic
The focus in Arabic is on the development of understanding inner points of Arabic grammar and culture through practicing, listening, reading, speaking, writing and engaging in real world Arabic conversation.

MESSAGE FROM ENGLISH DEPARTMENT
.jpg)
English being one of the subjects taught at Bukomansimbi Secondary School, it is essential in the field of education because it’s one of the most important languages in the world. There are different kinds of English like British English, Canadian English and American English. These are not separate languages but they are dialects.
There are 104 countries where English is spoken as the first language. In many countries, scholars are taught and encouraged to learn English as a second language even in countries where it is not an official language. Many of the syllabi in science and engineering are written in English. At the University level, students in many countries study almost all their subjects in English.
With exclusion of teaching English and Literature lessons, the Department also spearheads debates, drama and writer’s club in the school. With the effort from the Department and learners, we emerged to be the best school during the Human Rights inter-school debate competition in Bukomansimbi district that was held on 11th march 2020.
DID YOU KNOW THAT?
English is a global language which is commonly spoken in the world where by one out of five people can speak and understand English.
With English, you can study all over the world since it’s spoken in many different countries and there are thousands of schools and Universities around the world that offer programs in English.
Studying English can help you get a job since it’s alanguage of science, aviation, computers, diplomacy and tourism.
Failing English can change a student’s grade for example from grade one to another grade.
English is particularly an important language online with more than half of the content on the internet written in English.
With all the above, Bukomansimbi secondary school has put a lot of effort by providing text books, qualified teachers, online journals, organizing debate competitions both internal and external to enhance public speaking and problem solving skills among learners with the aim of producing citizens who are confident and able to express themselves in public.
As the Head of Department I call upon all students to take part in these activities andit’s my humble appeal to parents to encourage and support their students with necessary requirements and bring students to Bukomansimbi to come and explore the change in the school where speaking English is a priority.
